Cheers to 20 years; West named TMG president

West named as President of The Manahan Group

CHARLESTON — The Manahan Group, an advertising and digital agency, is celebrating 20 years of helping clients and giving back to the community. CEO and founder George Manahan started the business in 2003. To mark the special milestone, the 10-plus member group is launching a rebranding effort and is announcing a promotion of one of its longtime employees. Vice President Bethany West has been officially named the new president of The Manahan Group, which is the current agency of record for DHHR and West Virginia Lottery.

West was hired more than 20 years ago after graduating from Marshall University with a degree in Marketing. She knew she wanted to work in advertising and decided to work as a receptionist at the agency before finding her calling as a media buyer, account manager and securing connections within the community. Her relationships with media outlets often result in more cost-effective advertising placement.

“If you’ve seen a billboard or television commercial, chances are Bethany has planned and purchased the media,” Manahan said. “Her work has touched millions of people in national and regional markets.”

West has served as the executive director of the American Advertising Federation – West Virginia Chapter. She has experience with clients including West Virginia Department of Highways, West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles, The Hartford SMART 529 Education Savings Solution Plan and the State Treasurer’s Office.

“You can talk about her skills with market research and media placement all day,” Manahan said. “The real reason Bethany is equipped to take our agency into the future is she stands out as the most loyal, caring and hard-working employee at TMG. She loves her job, her clients and I trust that ethic will propel us to the next level.”
