In the fall of 2022, the State Office of Rural Health approached TMG for assistance in creating a means to recognize and celebrate the strides being made in the realm of rural health all over the state of West Virginia.

After an On-Target session to determine the client’s goals, audience, and funding requirements, it was decided that launching a magazine to be distributed to partners in rural health as well as education institutions all over the state would best reach the target audience and potentially gain more readers. After compiling a list of potential stories the client wanted to highlight, TMG coordinated interviews and photography with each subject to ensure all asset needs had been met. Once the content was complete, TMG created a look for the piece and collaborated with the client to edit each story, identify photographed individuals, etc.

This magazine is unique in that it highlights the amazing people all over the state who work tirelessly to ensure that all West Virginians have access to equitable healthcare. In addition, there are also efforts to work proactively to increase access to healthy foods and decrease inactivity resulting in healthier lifestyles.

The inaugural issue of Country Roads magazine came to fruition in the Summer of 2023 with 2,000 copies distributed throughout the state. It was a resounding success with both the client and TMG receiving praise from story subjects, partners, and recipients alike. The client is now working with their IT team to get a digital version added to the program’s website and plans for the next issue are in development
