Project Overview

The Manahan Group’s CEO George Manahan was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He searched the community for support groups or events that would help him learn more about the disease. He found nothing. A local support group was discontinued several years earlier. Manahan decided to organize an event that would bring Parkinson’s suffers and their families together to bring attention to the disease and lead to the start of a local support group. The Fox Trot for Parkinson’s Research, a local fundraiser to benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF), was established.

The event raised over $50,000 in 2017 and has raised more than $175,000 during the five years it has been held. More importantly, MJFF announced that it will expand the Fox Trot to 14 other locations, secure a national sponsor for the event, and make it Team Fox’s signature 5K race.
