Centralized Intake Abuse Reporting Hotline

The Manahan Group worked with Centralized Intake to create a comprehensive abuse and neglect reporting hotline awareness campaign, promoting a 24/7 resource that supports both child and adult victims of abuse and neglect.

TMG’s Goals and Objectives

  • Develop new branding for the abuse reporting hotline
  • Craft clear messaging explaining how and when to report abuse, emphasizing that reporting is a positive action that helps vulnerable citizens
  • Raise awareness of the reporting hotline as the go-to resource for child and adult protective services reporting support, as well as for requests involving delinquent teens or adults needing placement
  • Highlight the hotline’s role in handling both Child Protective Services (CPS) and Adult Protective Services (APS) reports
  • Promote the hotline in both urban and rural areas, ensuring a broad reach, especially in regions with lower reporting rates

Tactics

TMG focused on strategically placed billboards and transit ads, particularly targeting urban areas with high visibility, while also reaching out to rural regions where abuse may be underreported. This geographic balance reinforced how to report abuse and neglect in urban and rural areas, a critical part of the overall messaging.

The campaign’s messaging consistently framed reporting abuse as a proactive, helpful step to ensure the safety of individuals in need, while educating the public on the appropriate steps to take when reporting abuse or neglect.

Through this project, TMG helped to build long-term awareness of the hotline, encourage responsible reporting, and foster a supportive environment for those in vulnerable situations.
