Project Overview

Senator Palumbo hired TMG to manage and design all materials for his political campaign during the 2016 general election. The integrated marketing campaign included a website, social media assets, digital ads, billboards, several television and radio spots in addition to other printed materials.

Given the national political landscape, we knew this was going to be a tough race. By positioning the Democratic senator as an “Independent Leader,” the campaign not only appealed to Democrats, but also Independents and undecideds in the district.

He was targeted by conservative Republican groups who sent out more than 11 direct mail pieces and conducted robo-calls in opposition to his campaign. We knew that Republicans would make a strong showing on Election Day and that he would need to be viewed favorably by moderate Republicans in order to win re-election.

In a year when Republicans upended many Democratic incumbents, Senator Corey Palumbo stood out as one of the few Democrats in the state to win re-election, beating his opponent by over 4,500 votes or 11% against a very strong challenger.
